U.S Navy Awards Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. an IDIQ Contract to Manufacture the Latest Version of the SFC
Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. (AGEC) was recently awarded an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract from NAVAIR Lakehurst to supply the latest version of the Static Frequency Converter (SFC). The SFC supports the F-35 JSF, E2-D Hawkeye, V-22 Osprey, FA-18 Super Hornet, and all other current aircrafts in the Navy arsenal.
AGEC’s latest version of the Static Frequency Converter, NSN 6130-01-616-8942, provides the high quality 270 VDC power demanded by the F-35 aircraft in accordance with Lockheed Martin ground power requirements. The SFC converts 440/220 VAC 50/60 Hz input power to 115 VAC 400 Hz, 270 VDC, and 28 VDC output power. The latest SFC has an integrated trailer and internal storage of all cables. AGEC’s SFCs operate worldwide in in the most severe and rugged military environments, providing crucial support on both shipboard carriers and land-based theaters.
AGEC has worked closely with the U.S. Navy to support the fleet and insure required readiness. AGEC’s SFC’s are available across all platforms in support of the U.S Navy, Foreign Military Service, and U.S. Department of Defense requirements. AGEC’s latest line of SFCs represents a milestone in the industry and we will continue to set the standard for military ground power in support of the warfighter.
All design and manufacturing work is currently performed in AGEC’s Franklin, Ohio, facility and is expected to be completed in June 2023.
